Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals is the IPL franchise that represents the state of Rajasthan.Prior to start of IPL 2008, Rajasthan Royals was being condidered to be the weakest team in the tournament. But, surprisingly, the team ulitmately emerged as the winner of the first season of IPL. The team lost its first match itself against Delhi Daredevils. But then they won 5 consecutive matches and continued their winning campaign till the semi finals.

IPL 2008 Champions

Although, they lost their first semi-final against Delhi Daredevils, but they won their second semi-final match (also against Delhi Daredevils) to make their way for the finals. Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 3 wickets in the final match of IPL 2008, played on 1 June 2008, and became the champions. Yusuf Pathan of Rajasthan Royals was declared Man Of The Match, while Shane Watson (also from Rajasthan Royals) became Man Of The Tournament.

I wish best of luck for this champion team, Rajasthan Royals, the real lions.
